A Medium shot is used to portray the emotion,physical appearance and relationship between characters or a character in a frame. In this shot in particular it is very apparent the emotional connection between the characters is strong. you can blatantly feel the sheer pain written on the face of one of the characters faces which connotes much of the narrative that we can associate with this in particular. we can assume that one of the characters has died or is terminally ill. This is reflected by the lack of emotion shown on his face and his limp positioning. Both characters are represented in a simple but effective way, as the use of the medium shot portrays their relationship perfectly, allowing the audience to feel the effect of what is happening on screen clearly.
